AB  - The rapid development of DNA sequencing technologies creates new educational opportunities for hands-on training. We report our experience in integrating handheld DNA sequencers (Oxford Nanopore Technologies’ MinION) as part of an academic class. This manuscript describes lessons learned to facilitate successful integration and provides educational resources for the benefit of the community.
