However, there are different non-correlated findings that need explanations. Examples include a) a delay of at least thirty seconds for LTP induction after stimulation that does not match with milliseconds of time required for associative learning, and b) the deficiency of the LTP mechanism for providing a structure-function mechanism for working memory. By viewing memories as first-person inner sensations, a derived mechanism can explain various features of LTP and its mismatched findings with that of normal learning.
