Abstract

A disease persisting in Norwegian salmonid cultures since the late 1970s is caused by a -like bacterium. This bacterium belongs to the genus , but it differs from all previously described species of this genus. The name sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is strain NCMB 2262 (= HI 7751).
